Welocalize Life Science SL, a global leader in multilingual content and AI-driven localization services, is on the hunt for a Spanish Data Annotation Specialist to join an exciting, high-impact AI project. You’ll be working on-site in New York (South Bay, CA offices: Menlo Park or Sunnyvale) with a team of top-tier engineers and language experts who are shaping how machines learn to understand human communication.

This is not your typical desk job. You'll be at the forefront of machine learning, training AI systems to better recognize, interpret, and process visual and language data. Whether you’re applying metadata tags or verifying bounding boxes on complex visual inputs, your contributions will directly influence how smart, accurate, and efficient AI models become.

💼 This is a full-time W-2 contract position, set to start in mid-January 2025, with a competitive pay rate of $28/hour and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, 401(k), and more. The role is expected to last at least 12 months, with the strong potential for extension based on project needs and your performance.

Job Overview

Welocalize is seeking a Spanish Data Annotation Specialist to support a high-profile AI and machine learning project. This role requires fluency in Spanish (Spain) and English (U.S.) and experience in data annotation, quality assurance, and data handling.

As a QA Analyst - Data Annotation Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of training data for AI and machine learning models. You will work 100% on-site at one of our South Bay, CA offices (Menlo Park or Sunnyvale) alongside a dedicated team of AI professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Data Annotation & Quality Assurance

  • Label and annotate video and image data for AI model training.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply bounding boxes, metadata tags, and other annotations as required.

Collaborate with On-Site Team

  • Work closely with machine learning engineers and project managers to improve AI model performance.
  • Provide feedback and insights to enhance annotation guidelines and workflows.

Ensure Secure Handling of Data

  • Maintain strict data confidentiality and security protocols.
  • Adhere to federal compliance regulations, including the I-9 employment eligibility verification process.


Required Qualifications & Skills

Fluency in Spanish (Spain) and English (U.S.) (fully proficient in both languages).
1-2 years of experience in data annotation (visual annotation experience is a plus).
Quality assurance experience (formal QA background is preferred).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work on-site full-time (remote work is not available for this role).
Valid work authorization in the U.S. (VISA sponsorship is not provided).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with augmented reality or AI-driven data annotation is a plus.
No technical skills are required, but a linguistic background is preferred.
