Job Description:
As a Content Moderator at Bazaarvoice,
you will be an integral part of a team responsible for ensuring that the
user-generated content across client websites meets high standards. This
part-time, remote role involves reading, analyzing, and moderating large
volumes of content, including product reviews, questions, comments, images, and
videos. Content will be in both English and German, requiring fluency in
both languages. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, review, and
categorize content according to defined guidelines, ensuring it adheres to our
client’s standards for appropriateness and quality.
The job will require you to work in
a queue environment, making quick decisions on whether content should be
approved, edited, or removed based on our clients' specific guidelines. You
will also handle any potentially disturbing or illegal content, such as
material involving violence or abuse, following strict protocols. Additionally,
you will be working to meet specific performance metrics, ensuring high
efficiency while maintaining the quality of your work. As a remote
position, you will need a reliable home office setup, including a computer with
the latest operating system and high-speed internet access.
Responsibilities:
- Content Moderation: Review user-generated
content posted on client websites, including text, images, and videos.
You’ll apply predefined codes to categorize content and determine whether
it violates guidelines. The content will primarily be in English and
German.
- Quick Decision-Making: As you moderate the
content, you will be expected to make decisions swiftly regarding the
appropriateness of posts, ensuring they meet the company’s content
standards.
- Handling Disturbing Content: Occasionally,
you may come across deeply disturbing or illegal content, such as violent
or abusive material. You will need to follow guidelines for removing such
content.
- Performance and Feedback: Work steadily in a
queue-based system while striving to meet or exceed performance metrics.
You will receive regular feedback, and your goal will be to continuously
improve your coding accuracy.
- Weekend Shifts: Your role will require a
semi-flexible schedule, including 4 hours on weekends (Saturday/Sunday).
You will also have the option to flex up to 29 hours per week based on
content volume.
- Special Projects: Occasionally, you may work
on special projects, which could include content moderation in either
English or German. These may require additional training or unique
handling techniques.
Qualifications:
- Language Proficiency: You must be fluent in
both English and German at a professional level. Native-level
proficiency in German is essential for the role.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree or
equivalent international qualification is preferred. However, someone with
extensive practical experience or a relevant online course certification
may also be considered.
- Experience: At least 3 years of
experience working in a fast-paced environment, where attention to
detail and decision-making was essential. Experience with content
moderation or digital tools is a plus.
- Home Office Setup: You must have a reliable
home office setup with a computer that runs up-to-date software, a
smartphone, and a stable internet connection. This ensures you can work
remotely and independently without disruptions.
- Location: The position is available to
residents in specific U.S. states, including Texas (TX)
(preferred), Arkansas (AR), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA),
Illinois (IL), North Carolina (NC), and Ohio (OH).
Work Schedule & Flexibility:
This part-time, remote position
requires 16 to 29 hours per week, depending on the content volume. Your
base schedule will consist of 16 hours, and you will need to work at
least 4 hours on weekends (Saturday or Sunday). You will have the
flexibility to choose when to complete the remaining hours within a 12-hour
block during weekdays. If the content volume is higher, you may be asked to
flex up to 29 hours per week.
The flexibility to work from home
makes this a great opportunity for someone looking for a remote, part-time
position with a variable schedule. You will have a semi-flexible work
schedule, allowing you to adjust your hours based on personal commitments
and content demands.
Pay & Benefits:
- Training: You will participate in a paid
four-week training program, designed to help you get up to speed with
Bazaarvoice’s systems and guidelines. During training, you will earn a
starting pay of $14/hour.
- Post-Training Pay: After training, your pay
will shift to a pay-per-performance model, with a starting base pay
of $14–$18 per hour, depending on performance. You can earn more
based on the quality and quantity of your work.
- Performance Metrics: Your pay can increase
based on how well you meet or exceed performance expectations. This could
include things like accuracy, efficiency, and the quality of your content
