🔬 Help Teach AI to Think Like a Physicist – Remote, Flexible & Paid at $40+/hr

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to teach artificial intelligence how to understand the universe — the same way you do? At Data Annotation, that’s exactly what we’re doing. And now, we’re looking for expert physicists to help us push the boundaries of what AI can learn.

In this remote-first role, you won’t be stuck behind a lab bench or in endless lectures. Instead, you'll be tackling complex physics problems — from Newtonian mechanics to quantum physics — and using them to test and train next-gen AI chatbots. Your input will directly shape how AI systems solve real-world physics challenges, reason through scientific logic, and apply mathematical precision to their thinking.

Whether your background is in classical mechanics, electromagnetism, or advanced quantum theory, this job lets you flex your scientific brain in a whole new way. You'll work on your terms, at your pace, and get paid well for it — starting at $40 an hour, with additional bonuses for high-quality contributions.

You’ll also get the freedom to choose the projects you want to work on, making it an ideal role for academics, PhDs, postgrads, or industry professionals who want to make a meaningful impact, without compromising their schedule. All you need is a sharp mind, a strong background in physics, and a passion for innovation.

This is your chance to move from studying the laws of the universe to actually teaching them to AI.

DataAnnotation is a leading company specializing in training AI models by providing high-quality data to improve machine learning systems. We are seeking a skilled and expert Physicist to join our team as an AI Trainer. In this role, you will be responsible for testing AI chatbots with diverse and complex physics problems, evaluating their outputs, and solving problems to improve the quality and performance of the models.

This is a remote position, giving you the flexibility to select the projects you want to work on and to set your own schedule. As an AI Trainer, you will have the opportunity to directly influence the development of AI models, ensuring their physics reasoning and problem-solving abilities are accurate and advanced.

Why This Role?

This role provides a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in physics to help advance AI technology. As an AI Trainer, you will create and evaluate a variety of physics problems, helping AI models improve their problem-solving abilities. Your work will directly impact the performance and development of AI chatbots, improving their ability to reason through complex physical and mathematical challenges.

You will be working remotely, on a flexible schedule, and compensated for your time with competitive hourly pay, plus the potential for bonuses based on the volume and quality of your work.

Key Responsibilities

As an AI Trainer for physics, your responsibilities will include:

  • Solving Complex Physics Problems: You will provide AI chatbots with diverse and intricate physics problems, covering a wide range of topics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and more.
  • Evaluating AI Outputs: After the AI processes these problems, you will evaluate the chatbot’s answers, ensuring their correctness and logical consistency. This will involve assessing how well the AI applies physical concepts to solve real-world problems.
  • Improving AI Models: Based on your evaluations, you will work to refine the AI models, solving identified issues and improving their physics reasoning and output.
  • Providing Feedback: You will offer critical feedback to the development team on the AI models’ performance, guiding improvements and enhancements to the chatbot’s capabilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Fluency in English: Native or bilingual proficiency in English is essential for effective communication and feedback in this role.
  • Expertise in Physics: A deep understanding of physics, including but not limited to:
    • Classical Mechanics
    • Electromagnetism
    • Thermodynamics
    • Quantum Physics
    • Astrophysics, Biophysics, Nuclear Engineering, and Chemical Engineering are also applicable fields.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong skills in mathematics, including algebra, calculus, and statistical reasoning, to evaluate the AI’s problem-solving approach.
  • Inductive/Deductive Reasoning: The ability to assess the AI’s reasoning, logic, and decision-making processes, ensuring they follow sound scientific principles.
  • Advanced Academic Background: A Master’s or PhD in Physics, or a related field such as Astrophysics, Biophysics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to Detail: This role requires an ability to work carefully and methodically, paying close attention to accuracy and precision when evaluating AI outputs.
